Cloudy dark reddish brown with a decent light brown head that leaves some lacing in my glass. Chocolate and peppermint aromas, candy cane and mint chocolate flavors. Medium bodied with a soft and creamy mouthfeel, leaves a nice fresh minty aftertaste. A really tasty holiday ale.

This wasn’t so great. Boring for a winter ale. Cinnamon and ginger but nothing really intense like the orange or fruit flavors.

A reddish brown appearance with almost no head. It has a strong cinammon and peppermint aroma. The flavor was a bit sour with the christmas spice showing through. Not impressed at all really.

Tasted at KC Bier Meisters meeting in my NB worthy glass. From a 12oz bottle. "Hint of peppermint" my ass! Nose is malty and pepperminty. Flavor is malty and pepperminty. Mouthfeel is thin. Too much peppermint, which was not a good flavor in this beer to begin with. Not really very good.

Pours brown with very thin tan head that laces poorly. Nose is overwhelming hard candy and nutmeg, mint. Flavor is cinnamon and spice notes, overwhelming peppermint, mildly sweet, with a smoky finish. There is also some kind of vegetable mash flavor throughout, as if someone was making cheap vodka and stopped halfway through. Now I can firmly say I don’t like peppermint beer. Dreadful.

Pours a murky dark brown with a nice, thinly lacing, frothy light tan head. Aroma is a very intriguing blend full of ginger, cinnamon sugar, and spearmint. Body starts with a light sugary gingerbread flavor, turning more cinnamon and nutmeg spicy with a clean mint finish and hints of dark chocolate. All these great flavors are there, but they could blend together a little better and be more balanced, but otherwise this is an interesting and enjoyable holiday brew. Thanks JPDIPSO!

O’Fallon did a good job of adding a non-traditional ingrediant to beer. I wouldn’t want to drink more than a couple at a time but overall I enjoyed it. It was a nice novelty and I look forward to next year’s batch.

Very murky and dark brown with a thin head. Big notes of chocolate-chip cookies and peppermint. The reindeer on the label has a bunch of candy canes caught in his antlers, but I didn’t believe they’d be in the beer. They are, and it’s kind of odd. It tastes a lot like mint chocolate chip ice cream, come to think of it. Can’t say I don’t like it, but ... it’s kind of like a car accident that you just can’t turn away from. Very weird stuff. Not as repulsive as I would’ve expected ... it’s actually drinkable.
