Chocolate and peppermint aromas, candy cane and mint chocolate flavors. Medium bodied with a soft and creamy mouthfeel, leaves a nice fresh minty aftertaste. A really tasty holiday ale. I wouldn’t want to drink more than a couple at a time but overall I enjoyed it. It was a nice novelty and I look forward to next year’s batch. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

A very very dark brown body with a little cloudiness. Aroma is bread, ginger, celery and cinnamon. Tastes are nutmeg, ginger and a very thick bread. Sethdude is correct, there is also mint in the finish. Refreshing. Mouthfeel is creamy and full. A nice treat for the winter. Thanks sethdude for the delivery! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2004 Pours a murky dark brown with a nice, thinly lacing, frothy light tan head. Aroma is a very intriguing blend full of ginger, cinnamon sugar, and spearmint. Body starts with a light sugary gingerbread flavor, turning more cinnamon and nutmeg spicy with a clean mint finish and hints of dark chocolate. All these great flavors are there, but they could blend together a little better and be more balanced, but otherwise this is an interesting and enjoyable holiday brew. Thanks JPDIPSO! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2004 Nice spicy, piney aroma. Not much head, color is a very very dark red, quite nice. Palate is sweet and full. Spicy and very minty on the tongue, but not overdone and very drinkable. A beefed up heartier version of this would rock. lizzy (44), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

Pours a dark brown with thin white lacing on top. Smells sweet, roasty, malty, and very minty. Flavor is identical to aroma. I never wold have thought to mix beer and mint, but it actually works pretty well. This is a seasonal that I hope they continue to make every year. Dongster (15), DeKalb, Illinois, USA

Slight chocolate flavor to balance the mint with a fairly regular body and finish. Tastes great as dessert with chocolate cake. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 19, 2005 Sampled at a 2005 Christmas and Winter beer tasting at Delilah’s, Chicago, IL. 2004 vintage. Clear amber beer having a long-lasting off-white head with fair lacing. No discernable carbonation. Nice spicy candy aroma. Light-to-medium bodied that starts with slight sweet malt, spice, and toffee flavors. Finishes with light malt aftertaste. Though rather thin textured, this is a good drinkable winter brew.
