Pours copper with a slight haze and rocky off white head. Aroma of sugary malt and cinnamon. Medium light bodied with some slight fizziness and thin texture. Flavor really lacks some malt backbone. All that comes out are the pumpkin spices (clove, nutmeg, cinnamon), and they are not even balanced well in my opinion. Finish is watery. Nothing special here for me. I enjoyed the Schlafly much more. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

On the nose, I’m not getting pumpkin. I’m getting pumpkin spice: cinnamon, nutmeg and a faint clove, along with a note that reminds me of mincemeat. Light to medium-bodied, a bit grainy and effervescent with a quick dry finish. The flavor is quite a bit different from the nose. Swirling this beer around in my mouth, it tastes mildly like pumpkin, but on the swallow, I get a big hit of pumpkin pie, complete with the spices on the nose. It actually improves with a few swallows and becomes rather pleasant. This is my first pumpkin brew and I have to say that I’m rather impressed. I thought it would be odd and gimmicky, something for the season, but I actually like this beer. It’s never going to be a go-to beer or one that someone should go out of their way to acquire, but it is actually fairly tasty and makes me ready to throw on a sweatshirt and watch college football while the leaves change on the trees outside the stadium. I liked this beer because of all the Pumpkin beers I’ve tried this one struck the best balance; the spices don’t overpower the beer flavor, yet they are prominent enough that you still get them in the flavor along with the pumpkin. A nice beer. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2007 Maybe the best pumpkin beer I have had. The aroma has nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor is like pumpkin pie filling. OSLO (826), Perth, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2007 [Bottle, thanks JK] Poured cloudy golden with a tiny white head. Aroma was strongly cloves and nutmeg, with some cinnamon in there too. Taste is spicy with pumpkin. This is the first pumpkin ale I have had so I have nothing to compare it with, but I was surprised not to see a higher score for it.
