Aroma was strongly cloves and nutmeg, with some cinnamon in there too. Taste is spicy with pumpkin. This is the first pumpkin ale I have had so I have nothing to compare it with, but I was surprised not to see a higher score for it. BDR (2168), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Thanks to JK for sharing. Hazy orange pour with no head by the time I got to my sample. Very well done nose with cinnamon, nutmeg, and most importantly plenty of pumpkin. Pumpkin once again shows through in the taste as do the spices. drewbeerme (2306), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Sampled at Cellar’s Friday evening ber tasting. From 12-oz bottle pours a hazy orange amber brew with an average size off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, spicey cloves, butmeg and a touch of mincemeat pie filling. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied and sweet flavors of light pumpkin bread and nutmeg. Finish is slighly sweet, watery feel with a bready/clove flavor aftertaste. Thanks to JK for sharing this brew. kitschy (210), Nebraska, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2007 perhaps my favorite pumpkin beer, this beauty has nice malt body, plenty of soothing spices, a hop kick near the end... and is delicious any time of the year. I prefer to drink it with an oatmeal cookie. Gabemik (46), Joplin, Missouri, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | May 26, 2007 A thin, dark orange brew with little to no head. Aromas are pumpkin and spice. The palate is thin, watery, and overly carbinated. The flavors are missing. There is more aroma than taste to this brew. I’d rather just sit there and smell it than drink it and spoil the effect. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2007 Pours a dark amber with little if no head. Whatever head there was on the poor is gone seconds after the pour. I’m getting a strong sugary, pumpkin bread smell from this one. Taste is close to the smell. Really smooth tasting with slight carbonation. This is going down way too easily. This is the best pumpkin taste I’ve gotten from this style. I like the Weyerbacher, but that is a different taste altogether with the strong spice presence. I could drink many of these. The only thing missing is some whipped cream.
One of my top two of this style. If you like pumpkin beers, then this is a must try.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Bottle. Copper body... small head that is gone after a minute. Cinnamon is the first scent that hits you, then a subtle pumpkin with some other pie spices. Flavor does not come together as well as I would have hoped. The spicing and the pumpkin don’t seem to mesh well with a full malt body. Instead they pull away from the sweetness of the malt with a slightly peppery spiciness and a little bit of a sour pumpkin flavor. It’s not bad, but not great, either.
