Maybe I have a bad beer. My wife confirmed the vinegar smell. The appearance hasn’t changed this year. The taste isn’t vinegary though. That’s a good sign. The taste is a mild pumpkin and nutmeg. This isn’t the best pumpkin ale but it’s worth trying. The body is medium-thin to thin. The finish is non-existent.
12oz bottle poured in a tumbler. The last pumpkin beer still lingering in the icebox from autumn 2007. OFPA pours bronze with almost no head at all. It has a more robust pumpkin and spice aroma than most of the pumpkin ales I’ve had this season. There is a fair amount of mild hop smell as well. The body is medium, neither thin nor chewy. It leaves a bit of after-taste. The flavor is a bit of a let-down after drinking a Shipyard Pumpkinhead. The flavor is very reminiscent of a red ale with just a touch of Halloween spices. 5000 (2634), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA

and a little bit of clove on the nose.   Quite spicy on the tongue, a little tangy, spritzy.   Quick, but a clean finish.
Better than I expected.   A little pumpkin pie does come out on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not big, but
does have a decent amount of flavor.   Clean and refreshing.   Big thanks to drmatt for sending several of these!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Roasted pumpkin orange in color, thin off white head that left heavy lacing through out the drink. Pretty soft nose. Some cinnamon and nutmeg on top of sweet malt. Flavor is gingerbread cookie meets pumpkin pie. Lots of spice on the tongue with a sweet creamy texture. A very good seasonal that can be enjoyed from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA

There’s a nice nose of cinnamon and nutmeg that’s enjoyable. The flavor is strong on the spices but there does seem to be some genuine pumpkin going on in there as well. Lively carbonation. Decent brew. Headbanger (1601), Aurora, Illinois, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Had this beer on 9/8/2004. Aroma has a nice spicy scent to it. Color is a hazy gold with very good carbonation and a nice tight head. Taste is light and smooth. Starting with a light/medium body and going down easy with a mild fizzy feel. Finish comes on with a light malt flavor and a faint spicy flavor, this is backed by a light bitterness. In the end it is a fresh, clean and refreshing beer. Its not the most flavorful Pumpkin but it is a very drinkable and nice beer.
