Bottle poured into a snifter produced a tan head that didn’t stay around long.
The body was a typical black color
Aromas of smoke, peat and that’s about it for this brew.
Taste like smoked malts some chocolate in there as well. Medium body no carbonation to speak of at all.
Interesting brew don’t know if I could drink more that one at a sitting. I can say I would love to cook with this brew if it was available to me. Thanks Brad

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 31, 2008 Bottle brought home from St. Louis. No, I wasn’t expecting anything near Stone’s Smoked Porter, but this beer still fell way short. The head fizzled out immediately atop this dark brown pour, and the aroma was faint smoke. The body was thin and the flavor had hints of smoke over lightly roasted malt. Overall, unimpressive to say the least, and I certainly would not call this beer rich or big. dwaggs2 (565), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA

Powerful and inviting aromas: meaty smoke with wood. The body feels watery but sticky. Roasted and burnt malts that have a slight sweetness. Meaty smoke with dark chocolate undertones. Finishes dry with an earthy herbal peaty flavor that I’m not enjoying as much as the rest of the beer. Overall a tasty smoked beer. FROTHINGSLOSH (2038), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

The aroma was smoky and malty with a distinct hickory note. The flavor was strong hickory smoke with a touch of peat and a lightly fruity, malty and roasty base. The finish was long and dominated by the hickory. Tasty. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA

Brown pour with a very bubbly head. Aroma is not surprisingly of lightly smoked wood with the lingering sweetness of raw sugar. Flavor is very smooth, some oak chips, sweet malts, and a very delicious and full smoked finish that is not overdone. Not a smoked beer fan myself, but I must give credit where it is due. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with little to no head. Aroma of smoke and tabacco. Taste is more of the same, reminds me of chewing tobacco, some chocolate. A little overwhelming to me. Dogbrick (2907), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours nearly black with a thin light brown head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing. The aroma is smokey with some peat malt and chocolate. Medium body with a roasted/smoked character and flavors of malt, oak and chocolate. The finish is dry and smoky with a lingering earthy malt and baking chocolate aftertaste. A pretty good homage to the style created by Alaskan.
