| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Dark brown body with reddish tint and a small tan head. Rich smoky nose with toffee, light chocolate and dark fruit. The flavor is hickory and apple wood smoke with light sweetness, raisins, caramel and a touch of dark chocolate. Medium body is soft with light carbonation and a slightly oily texture and a thin finish. Decent. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Bubbly black with a tan head. Not as smoky in the smell as I thought it would be - in fact there is very little smokiness to it at all. Mostly malt in the aroma - and the same goes with the flavor - malty! Reminds me of a very bubbly brown due to the texture and the taste and the lack of smokiness overall. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Fairly dark black body with a thinnish brown head that fades VERY fast. Nice, but still about 90% opaque. Aroma of alcohol, vanilla, cherries, chocolate and of course - smoked malt. Medium-bodied; Strong smoked peat flavoured body with coffee and chocolate very noticeable. Aftertaste shows some alcohol, a bit of brown sugar and a fake-tasting smokiness. Overall, a decent smoked beer - not perfect, but light enough to drink more than one of. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Sam’s Wine & Liquor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 20-December-2007. Headbanger (1598), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2007 12oz bottle-A nice black body with a huge head and an aroma of of course smoke. Taste the same with a bit of bacon, roasted malt, and a little sweetness. One of the better smoked beers I’ve tried. philfish (14), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

I can respect them, but I don’t really enjoy them. 12 oz bottle. Aroma of wet campfire wood, smoked bacon with hints of some light chocolate malt. Pours a nice dark, dark brown... almost black with a creamy khaki head. Less smoke in the flavor than on the nose, thankfully. Some lightly roasted malt with some smoky, woody, meaty undertones. Finishes with a hint of salt. Medium bodied and fairly creamy. ford9719 (369), Vilseck, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Bottle. Poured a very dark deep black. Aroma is nothing but smoke. Taste is like a smoked brisket and it is nice.
