| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2006 Smells like smoked meat and coffee. Jet black with nice initial head. Initial flavor is smokey coffee. Some sourness/tanginess as it warms. Finish is chewy and dry. Overall good, but not overly complex- smokey flavor that settles into an average porter. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2006 Sampled at Noogfest-2. Pours dark chocolate brown. VERY smokey aroma that starts to take on a fishy hint. The flavor is toasted malts, smokey cedar wood, very light sweetness. Creamy light body. While this is OK, I could never drink an entire glass or bottle of this smoked stuff. It’s too much for me. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2006 Pours an almost black and as the name implies it is a smokey aroma and flavor. A flavor of smoke, chocolate, and malt in that order. A dry almost sharp dry. It has a smooth even mouthfeel. A good beer.
