May 24, 2009 Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Dark brown pour, thick gray head, very thick lacing. Nose is big smoke and thick BBQ meat, sweet honet and some heat. Flavor is very smoky, some chocolate, and coffee, dark fruit in the finish. Medium-bodied, drinkable. Smoke is more subdued than the nose. Overall one of the best smoked beers I’ve had.

May 24, 2009 Draught at Helsinki Beer Festival 2009. Dark brown color with creamy head. Smoky aroma with coffee and leather. The flavor is dry, smokey and woody with nice restrained leathery roastedness.

Soft sweet smoky aroma. Slightly elastoplasty. Taste starts smoky, but the porter comes through in the mouth quite soon - tasty. Finish is both smoke and porter, quite lovely. However, it’s a tough schizophrenic - the two components are independent of each other.

May 17, 2009 (Draught at HBF2009) Very dark brown. Small tan coloured head. Smoke and liquorice in aroma. Full bodied and dryish palate with quite a lot of carbonation. Smoke, roastedness, liquorice, sweetness, bitterness and coffee in taste. Smoke and roastedness in aftertaste.

May 16, 2009 (Draught@HBF2009) Very dark brown with a small, beige head. Moderately mild aroma with smoked, sweetish malt, and tiny diacetyl hints. Mildly roasted-malty flavor with smoky wood barrel. Medium, slightly thin body with soft carbonation. Ok, but I had hopes for more thick, complex and smoky brew.

May 16, 2009 Draught@HBF2009. Very deep rubyish brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, soome roasted notes as well as smokedwood. Mild nuttyness as well as fudge as well. Flavour is roasted malts, slight fruity notes and mild nuttyness. Served way too cold as the aroma and flavour open up only after it gets closer to room temperature.

Opaque black color, small brown head. Oaky smokey aroma, some toasty notes. Body is a bit thin, smokey, caramelly malty. Smoke and licorice in the aftertaste. Lighter than 6% indicates.

Pours blacvk, beige mocha head.
Aroma is smokey with bbq scents. The aroma was just insanely good.
Taste, smoke, bacon, roasted malts, thin bitter finish with the mix of smoke wood and light chocolate notes. Toward the end, the smoke became attenuated and was replaced by a more chocolate flavor.
