| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 3, 2005 I stopped by the brewery on a recent trip to the STL area and brewer Brian Owens was a gracious host. This is a quality act. This offering was exceptional ... medium gold and active, this is a pretty beer. First, you get an all-American malty beer, but then there’s this perfect little hint of a citric hop rolling off the back of the tongue. Call it training wheels into great beers for guys that don’t know any better. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2006 tap and bottle samples from various places. pours light orange with a soapy white head. aroma of spicy hops on tap, but in the bottle, a more piney note comes across with lots of toasted pale malt base-grainy, like cereal. the cascade hops they used must have been pretty green-grassy and spicy notes predominate the hop tone here. flavors of crisp pale malt husks, grassy hops, and the ofallon house malt/yeast twang on the finish. body is crisp, medium carbonation with a nice feel on the tongue. i would have to say this is a well balanced and fun drinking pale with some nice crisp flavors. A good compliment to the wheach for 2 solid summer beers. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2006 Pours copper with an off-white head. Aroma has soft caramel malt with a good amount of hops. Medium body. Hop presence is apparent from start to finish - piney and woody. Some grainy malt detectable in the background, but this is definitely a hop based beer. Hoppy, but not a knock in the head hopfest - a solid effort from O’Fallon. Very nice. Jedsbrew (465), Rhineland, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 24, 2004 Rich golden color with a short head, fair lacing and the familiar but always pleasant aroma of Cascade. On the light side in body, zippy and mildly sweet with enough of a citrusy bite to keep things interesting-a good summer brew it is. kwoeltje (1326), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2004 Medium gold with white head. Citrus hops aroma. Quafable with some grapefruit hops finish. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2006 12 oz Bottle: Pours a nice golden color, like a standard macro agree with tjthresh about larger than normal bubbles. The aroma is of light lemony hops, nothing sepctacular. The flavor is mild, but quite nice. I think the normal ho-hum quality is what it was going for with a name like summer brew, a lawn mowing beer with much above average (when speaking of macro) flavor.
Some toasty/roasted flavoring along with some pine, citrus, and grassy flavors. I don’t know why, but it reminds me of Milwaukee, some sort of lager charcteristic is my guess, can’t put my finger on it exactly-I think it might just be the working man mentality I have with this flavor, no beer geek worldbeater, but a good and tastey flavorful beer. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 11, 2003 color is hazy orange/golden with a thin slightly off-white head. light yeasty aroma almost has a faint hint of gasoline. flavor is lightly hopped with maybe a hint of citrus...this would be a pretty decent beer in the summer..too bad i'm drinking it in november. Silphium (2144), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2003 This is a brand new seasonal offering from O'Fallon and not the old "Summer Wheat." Pale straw-color with a thin tan head. Some light tangy malts in the aroma along with biscuit. Flavor has some floral hops, along with cereals and bread. All three O'Fallon beers I've tried so far are very similar.
