Rich aroma with lots of whiskey and smoke. Chocolate and vanilla in the aroma as it warms. Smooth bodied with more whiskey flavor, chocolate sweetness.
Not much hop bitterness. Smoke and bourbon are a good combo. Long whiskey finish. I liked this batch better than the last one. It is still a little thin. If they boosted the gravity a little, I think they would really have something special. thegreenrooster (1846), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2008 Pour is a black with no head at all. Aroma is more on the bourbon side with a little vanilla in there. Flavor is less smoky and meaty than the original smoke porter but a nice helping of the bourbon takes its place. In fact one knock on the beer is that its pretty one dimentional as the bourbon takes over everything. Not a bad thing as im fond of a nice bourbon but those that are not would not like this. Ofallon should probably amp up the alcohol for a barrel aged beer. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

Aroma of rich, sweet smoky dark caramel malt and a subtle hint of oaky whiskey. Starts sweet and dark caramely with good smoky bitterness and mild whiskey complexity. Nicely-balanced, interesting and enjoyable. Sammy (4064), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Nov 17, 2007 An amazing delicious concoction that reminded me little of the non-barrel version I consumed a few days earlier. The smoked porter definately takes a backseat to the bourbon whiskey and malt and some kind of full mouthfeel yeasty reaction that was a delight with a good fish and meat dinner. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
