beerbrat99 (119), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 1, 2008 Draft at Old Chicago. Pours a dark orange color with no head retention. Nose is light with some pine notes. The taste isn’t as hoppy as expected. slightly soapy in the finish. A decent brew but tasted more like a pale ale than a big IPA as the name suggests. DrunkenWeasel (218), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 3, 2006 Pours light amber with a medium white head. Smells slightly floral with some pine in there. Taste has VERY little hop taste with caramel notes almost more pronounced than the hops. Slightly watery, doesn’t cling to the mouth enough with a short lived aftertaste. I can see why some might like this one it’s an easy drink but I like more going on in my IPAs. jasonp (1423), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Aug 13, 2005 On tap at McMenamin’s Ram’s Head location in Portland. Clear golden amber with an off-white head. Lots of pine and Pacific NW hops in the nose, nice. Flavor is of fresh, hoppy grapefruit/citrus, mango, pine, resin and a little caramel. Pleasantly sweet, bitter finish. Full, round body with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Lacing hangs on the glass in sheets, great head retention. Glad I got to try this one, good IPA. paranoid (3), sherwood, Oregon, USA does not count Feb 4, 2005 Great beer
