Commercial Description:
This foreign-style stout is similar to bottled Guinness; a big dark brew that is rich and malty with plenty of roasted barley character. Six different malts combine to create this fantastic stout that is layered with chocolate-like flavors. You like coffee, you'll love this beer.

On tap at Oggi’s Encinitas. Poured a very deep dark black hue. The nose jumps out with rich roasted maltyness, coffee and hints of caramel. The mouthfeel is fullbodied and extremely pleasant. The malts in the are intense and flowing with a tiny bit of hops to round them out. This one had a sweet and a somewhat short finish, but I will definatly be enjoying this brew again! Very nicely crafted~

Courtesy TheCheeseman. Pours black, with a small, light tan head. Smells of big roast, light chocolate, and dark toasty malts. The flavor is much of the same. More roasty and nutty in the flavor, with small semblances of chocolate and cocoa. Light hop bitterness comes through in the finish, along with a rich roasty malt character. Decent little foreign stout, drank pretty well.

22oz Bottle. Pours a rich black with a small off white head. Caramel and coffee are the aromas. The taste is rich in coffee and slightly bitter with a hoppy bite and the end and a long bitter finish. Pretty one dimensional but a decent stout.

22. Black with a thin burnt tan head. Sour coffee nose. Medium creamy body. Sharp acrid dark roasted coffee mid-palate. Light dark pitted tree fruit there as well, with a brief mild coffee finish.

Bottle... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, lightly tanned head. Decent retention. The aroma is a medley of chocolate, vanilla, coffee and smoke. Medium to full-bodied with a whole-milk mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Tons of rich, burnt espresso beans and dark chocolate with only a trace of cardboard-like oxidation. Metallic, burnt, bitter finish. Nice, solid stout!

Courtesy of pailhead. Dark brown body with a tiny tan head. The nose is dusty milk chocolate, brown sugar and roast. The flavor is lightly sweet with lactose, chocolate and light coffee. Medium/light body is thin with moderate carbonation.

Bomber pours deep darkness with thin mocha head. Inviting aroma of caramel, coffee, chocolate and mild nuttiness. Yum. The taste has a load of notes that seem to hit all at once with roasted to burnt malts along with coffee, chocolate, hints of caramel and vanilla. It ends with a growing burnt maltiness and bit of coffee grounds. Tasty full flavored stout.

Courtesy of Ibrew2or3.

dark brown pour, opaque, can’t see Dave through it at all, which is not a bad thing...2 finger light tan head, lasting and with good lacing...chocolate, coffee, some fruit esters, roasted malts and beans, and then more coffee in both the aroma and flavor composition...medium bodied, creamy and filling...long finish, coffee, roasted beans and grounds, chocolate and then some dark fruit esters...

Great stuff, from a style I am not always overly excited about. Thanks Dave.
