Feb 25, 2008 Pours black with a tiny, oily ring of tan bubbles. Coffee, chocolate, caramel, and roasted malt in the nose. It was not a thin mouthfeel in general, but watery for the genre. More chocolate and coffee in the taste, with a little anise, caramel, cream, barley, and some oatiness and a little smoke. Good, not great.

Feb 22, 2008 Sample at the Santa Clarita location. Pours black with a medium and creamy light tan head that diminishes steadily. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Coffee and chocolate in the nose with toasted malt in the background. Medium, smooth body with flavors of coffee, burnt malt and chocolate. The finish is bitter coffee with a bit of malt and dark chocolate aftertaste. Overall this is a passable Stout.

Feb 21, 2008 Pours a deep dense black with tons of head. Lace is plentiful on my glass. Smells rich of burnt chocolate, coffee, dark roasted malts. Flavor opens bitter and acidic. Well hopped is this stout. Burnt molasses, dark chocolate, espresso and sweet brown sugar hit the taste buds. Finishes with a light chocolate syrup and moderate coating on the throat.

Feb 19, 2008 22oz bottle from BevMo. A great stout!! BIG nose of cocoa and coffee grounds. Flavor was dominate with coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and roasted toffee. Much better than I was expecting (no offense).

Pours dark and lovely with a nice tan head. Roasty aroma of chocolate and coffee, some tobacco. Dry(ish) flavor, again roasty, a bit more smoke that I expected, coffee, dry chocolate, hints of sweetness. Quite enjoyable even if not a standout in any particular way.

Feb 7, 2008 Bottle from SS. Pitch black with small tan head. Roasted nutty aroma with butter notes. The taste was of deep roasted malt, nuts, semi sweet chocolate and butter. smooth on the palate. Medium body and medium bitter finish.
