Commercial Description:
This foreign-style stout is similar to bottled Guinness; a big dark brew that is rich and malty with plenty of roasted barley character. Six different malts combine to create this fantastic stout that is layered with chocolate-like flavors. You like coffee, you'll love this beer.

Draft. Blackish beer with some red tints and a tan head. Chocolate and slight roast aroma. Chocolate and roast flavor with some enough hops to give a good backing. A bit of sweetness (and no astringncy which was nice). Medium body. Chocolate and roast lingers.

Pour is black with a thin brown head...smell is nicely roasty with lots of coffee....taste is sweet at first with chocolate, turning to a tasty coffee finish...

I was hoping that this beer was going to have a good coffee flavor since I had ordered it with dessert. It didn’t disappoint me. Great flavor and complimented my dessert very well that evening.

Tap at Mission Valley Oggis, This was the best beer here, very nice and smokey. Pours black ball black with a small white head, its like a Guiness but much better, the palate is dry with lots of roasted smoked malts, coffee and hints of hops. Nice and creamy palate with a bit to much carbonation. They serve it ice cold, so i recomend ordering with the apetizer and drinking it with your burger.

Draft at Escondido, CA, Oggi’s. Flavor on the subtle side, and went well with the burger. Wish I could get this bottled!

On tap@ Oggi’s Mission Valley: Dark brown color with a medium light brown head. Aroma is coffee and cream with a hint of smoke. Flavor starts light sweet dark chocolate followed by some coffee and a lightly bitter dry finish. Medium bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation.

On tap at Oggis Scottsdale: Beer pours with a nitro appearance, black color with a very creamy, tan colored head. Aroma is significantely smoky, rest of aromas are pretty muted. Flavor is much more impressive. Notes of rich, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and a bitter, dry finish make for a flavorful drinking experience. Don’t care for the nitro effect that much, but still a good beer.
