Pours pitch black with a medium-sized tan head that shows very good staying power and solid lacing.
The aroma is all about the dark, sweet malts with tons of bakers chocolate and some roasted coffee. Not crazy complex but an excellent nose for this style.
The taste wasn’t quite as solid as the nose and there is an overarching burnt malt bitterness that gets a little distracting. If you can get past the burnt character, there is semisweet chocolate and some spent espresso grounds, which just accentuates the bitterness, especially in the finish.
The mouthfeel is silky smooth and extremely dry and bitter with the roasted malts clinging to the palate.
This is a very good export stout that I think would be great if the bitterness was ramped down a touch. I do like the big sweet chocolate aroma as it’s a bit different for a dry stout. Overall, very tasty. fiulijn (7250), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Nice aroma, well combining coffee beans, chocolate, vanilla, cream. Medium-strong mouthfeel, roasted malt flavor, some chocolate, getting drier at the end, with a quite strong bitterness. The aroma is interesting, then the flavor gets more and more monothematic. gorditoabd (174), San Diego, California, USA

Aroma is of baker’s chocolate and burnt coffee. Initial flavor is flat, then followed by a rich bouquet of cocoa, sweet espresso, anise and molasses. The palate on this beer is complex and lasting. Really tasty, with a nice raisin finish. A good one here. slowrunner77 (58), reno, USA

VERY good beer. flutetokill (515), Fresno, California, USA
