On tap, Oggi’s-Vista. Rich and full bodied, one of the best I have experienced at Oggi’s. Deep reddish brown, nice smoky aroma. Good head, nice lacing. Excellent mouthfeel, very malty, slight bitterness (black patent?) Slightly sweet finish.

What kind of losers rated this beer bad...maybei just had a good batch. it poured a dark reddish chestnut color with a off white halo...nice malty, piney,. christmasy aroma leading to smooth, thick, and malty goodness with enough creaminess and maltiness to make me happy.

750ml bottle acquired in trade (I was told it was a part part of the Brewers bottles from the ’05 GABF). Poured a medium and cloudy/murky brownish-orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, earthy, fruity, light peat and a little smokey. Tastes of toffee, sugary sweet, toasted malts, fruity, and smoke. Lively body. This was by far, one of the best Scotch Ales I’ve had in a while. Well done!

Bottle. Thanks to hopdog for opening up this 2005 bottle, supposedly this was a bottle left over from GABF 2005. Dark brown body with nice creamy head. Malty aroma - slight cherry/ candy smell. Very smooth malty taste, it seemed to melt in my mouth as I drank it. Slightly dry. Smooth alcohol burn, very subtle. Nice mixture of spices left on the palate.

Much thanks to hopdog for opening up this vintage, 2005 750ml that was part of the Brewer’s stash from the 2005 GABF... Appears a hazy mahogany with a small, tan head that slowly fades into a mild cap and foamy collar. Little speckles of lacing are left around the glass. Smell is of dusty caramel, toffee, vanilla, and perhaps some light notes of wood and minerals. Taste is of the mentioned aromas, along with a very addictive flavor that’s packed with brown sugar, raisins, vanilla cream, rum cake, and mild smoke. Mouthfeel is fizzy, sugary, medium bodied, and finishing superbly. Well done!

This beer was at PP Strong ale festival. It poured a deep brown color w/ reddish highlights, good head and thin lacing. Caramel and raisin sweetness, malt, hints of plum and wood on the nose. The flavor was the same w/ hints of grapefruit also. This beer was dry but aggressive, a full body and good effervescence.

(Draft: Oggi’s in Vista, CA) Damn, yet another well done beer at Oggi’s Vista; Every "big" beer is excellent here; Very sweet and very malty with some bitterness on the back end; Hides the alcohol very well; Heavy and dense on the palate, coating the mouth in malty sweetness, but this isn’t cloying; Very sweet and malty nose; Deep brown in color and nearly opaque, even in a 10-ounce glass, except at the very edge; Pours with no head and no carbonation bubbles anywhere to be seen

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a hazy brown/orange/amber with an averaged sized off white head that left some lacing. Aromas of caramel, toffee, earthy, various fruits, dark fruits and molasses/nuts. Tastes of sweet toasted malts, some fruit, caramel, brown sugar and nuts. Lots of carbonation.
