| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2007 750ml bottle acquired in trade (I was told it was a part part of the Brewers bottles from the ’05 GABF). Poured a medium and cloudy/murky brownish-orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, earthy, fruity, light peat and a little smokey. Tastes of toffee, sugary sweet, toasted malts, fruity, and smoke. Lively body. This was by far, one of the best Scotch Ales I’ve had in a while. Well done! jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Bottle. Thanks to hopdog for opening up this 2005 bottle, supposedly this was a bottle left over from GABF 2005. Dark brown body with nice creamy head. Malty aroma - slight cherry/ candy smell.
Very smooth malty taste, it seemed to melt in my mouth as I drank it. Slightly dry. Smooth alcohol burn, very subtle. Nice mixture of spices left on the palate. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Much thanks to hopdog for opening up this vintage, 2005 750ml that was part of the Brewer’s stash from the 2005 GABF...
Appears a hazy mahogany with a small, tan head that slowly fades into a mild cap and foamy collar. Little speckles of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of dusty caramel, toffee, vanilla, and perhaps some light notes of wood and minerals.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas, along with a very addictive flavor that’s packed with brown sugar, raisins, vanilla cream, rum cake, and mild smoke.
Mouthfeel is fizzy, sugary, medium bodied, and finishing superbly.
Well done! Hairofthedog (419), San Diego, California, USA

It poured a deep brown color w/ reddish highlights, good head and thin lacing. Caramel and raisin sweetness, malt, hints of plum and wood on the nose. The flavor was the same w/ hints of grapefruit also. This beer was dry but aggressive, a full body and good effervescence. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
