Commercial Description:
GOLD METAL 2000 Great American Beer Festival! This light refreshing Cream Ale is brewed for those who enjoy a clean, crisp beer. It uses small amounts of Vienna malt to add body and flavor while preserving the light color. Sterling hops provides just a hint of spice in the aroma. Is now sold in Petco Park, Qualcomm Stadium, and the Del Mar Race Track in plastic bottles.

@Carmel Mtn Ranch CA-on tap-pours a disappearing white head and yellow color. Aroma is light malt, mild citrus-lemon, crisp. Taste is sweet light/medium malt-honey (OK vienna malt), mild citrus-lemon hops. Crisp.

(Draft @ Jobbing.com Arena, PHX, Az): Pours an amber golden color, very fizzy. Small whitish head. Strong malty aroma, almost sour. Very malty nutty taste, hoppy bitter. Letting warm a bit. Less acidic, less bitter as it warms.

Draft @ Oggie’s Carmel Mountain. No bueno, one of the worst golden ales I’ve ever had. Very watery, funky aroma...........lame.

12 oz bottle via HELLBILLY (Thanks!). This beer pours a hazy amber with no head, perhaps due to the screwtop and plastic bottle..weird. Nose is spicy, bandaids, and fusel alclohol. I am guessing this is infected...Taste is just...nasty bland watery.....plastic funk. This is horrid. No carbonation, and ultra-light body.

tap @ scottsdale. pour is clear gold with a thin white head that doesn’t stick around. earthy citric aroma. hard to pull anything out as it was poured on the liquid side of frozen. flavor is mild with light malt, grass and a strangely out of place lager spicy yeast hint. finishes clean with a floral aftertaste.

The beer emerges from the 12-ounce brown plastic bottle with the twist off cap a clear gold, the head substantial, creamy white that fades leaving a fine curtain of lace. Nose has a nice malt sweetness, fresh and clean to the senses; start is somewhat sweet, a bit of bitterness at the back with the feel to the palate light. Finish has a customary acidity, the hops mild in their spiciness, aftertaste dry, seems like a good candidate for a session beer.

Draft, consumed at Oggi’s Canyon Country 11/5/07. Clear pale yellow with average white head which faded normally. Nose is primarily sweet grain (corn). Flavor matches consistency: thin. Grainy, corny flavor with some sweetness finishes mostly clean with some residual malt lingering. No hop character to speak of. Not terrible, but no prize winner.
