Adenila (931), Denmark Jul 10, 2007 Hazy orange look with a huge ligt orange head. Aroma is very toffee like, with notes of butter and something bitter roased. The hobs gives it a minor grassy scent, but i still think the malts are more dominating in the aroma. The flavor however is mostly bitter, acctually not much sweetness at all. The mouth aroma reveals a deeper hob profile than the aroma, along with some notes of toasted bread. Finish is bitter towards harch, and sticks for awhile. Panzerfaust (393), Santiago, Chile Jul 4, 2007 Rating #300!! Pours a beautiful, luminous hazy red color. Head is big, white, frothy and long lasting. It laces greatly and leaves a film.
Aroma is diverse, herbal, fruity with notes of apricots, grass, strawberry, raspberries and cherries. Cute but not impressive.
Flavor is bittersweet, fruity with notes of cherries, berries, bitter herbs, grass and slight touches of distilled liquors and wood. I like it.
Mouthfeel is medium to light, balanced, medium carbonation. Juicy texture. The finish is dry, short and bitter. I can feel a slight alcoholic warming effect.
A good, well-crafted, subtle and balanced english Ale, but not as great as I expected.

Poured a real brown amber colourwith a thin white head. Loads of hops, malts, and fruit in the aroma. The taste is full of flavour of malts and hops with roasted nuts which come through. ChrisTurner (202), Melbourne, Australia Jun 2, 2007 Bottle -- Rich reddy brown with large off-white head wth great retention and lacing. Aroma is sweetish and earthy with a touch of dough. Flavour to match, with even more dough -- a bit like a toasted hot cross bun! Vaguely watery mouthfeel but not enough to detract. A really great winter beer. For once, the commercial description is spot on. downender (2537), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 27, 2007 Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol. Amber coloured with a moderate head. Aroma of caramel and red fruits. Flavour was of rich malt with a dry finish. Pretty good but extra alcohol didn’t add a great deal.
