dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Dec 4, 2006 Tons of raisins and alittle alcohol in the aroma. A fluffy long-lasting head. The flavor is definitely English, with the fuinky malts and hops, yet it’s grainy dry and pretty tasty overall. The best OHanlons I’ve had, and perhaps the highest I’ve rated a beer of this style. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland Nov 11, 2006 [Cask at Troon Beer festival] Caramel aroma, faintly citric, berry esters, slightly earthy. medium bodied ,sweet upfront, dry, bitter finish. Theis (3617), Denmark Nov 5, 2006 Cask at Charlies Bar. (A Bitter) Clear brown - small white head. Nice malty, bitter roasted, bitter hopped, wood, oak. henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Nov 1, 2006 Cask - Red brown slightly hazy body with a very creamy beige head; Mellow but hoppy aroma, lemon, orange, pine as well as straight up fresh hop; Flat, fresh, soft textured, balanced bitter body; Quite long finish where bitterness grows with the length, a very little dry, orange and pine like hoppy aromas and a little sweet malt. jimhilt (1663), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Oct 28, 2006 Pours a three finger off-white head that fades to a thin layer leaving a little lace. Almost clear, amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Woody apple nose. Starts nearly balanced with moderate hops, finish is distinctly hoppy but not as harsh as American pales. Tastes fresh even with a best before Feb 28, 2005. $3.69 for a 500ml bottle from Lina’s Beverages Painesville, OH. dj (418), Gloucestershire, England Oct 14, 2006 Bottle, 500ml. A clear dark amber colour with a small head. Good aromas of malt and plum. Taste is roasted malts, caramel, plum, peach and a little hoppiness. Moderate carbonation. A sweet, slightly acidic, lightly bitter finish. This is quite tasty. Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Oct 8, 2006 Not as rich as i would have liked. Aroma gives berry fruits, lightly toffee malts and floural hops. Taste is similar with not as much sweetness off the malts as i would have liked. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Sep 25, 2006 Pours coppery-amber colored with light carbonation visible through a honey-haze. A HUGE, khaki head took a long time to settle. Musty aroma of roasty pralines with an undertow of lemony, grassy hops. Sweet, candied, nutty flavor with a soft yet syrupy thickness. Artificial fruitiness of cherries and lemons chimes in. Over the course of the beer, I could not decide whether or not I liked it, but it turns out that I found it rather cloying and thought the flavors didn’t mesh.
