Has been seen as Royal Oak Pale Ale and Royal Oak Traditional Bitter.
Ingredients: Optic Pale, Crystal, and Torrified Wheat malts; Challenger, Northdown and Goldings hops.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber color. The initial pour gave a 1/2 inch of beer and 7 inches of off white foam. Had to wait patiently for the foam to go down before I could even get a decent sniff. Spicy hops aroma with sweet apples backing it up. Flavor begins with caramel malt and blends quickly into a toffee sweetness and piney bitterness. Medium bodied, creamy on the palate with a slight yeast tingle on the tongue. This one is definitely not meant to be drunk ice cold but is excellent at the right temperature.

Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white/beige head. Sweetish, hoppy aroma with fruity notes. Notes of apple roams the vicinity of the glass. Flavour is dryish and hoppy with distinct licorice notes. Finish is bitter with lots of licorice as well. 11-11-05.

Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. – 8 / 3 / 8 / 3 / 15. Pours a deep golden brown with an off-white head. Candy-like aroma with apple and hops. Flavour is sweetish. Hops and lots of apple. Bitter and sweetish finish with lingering hop notes. 16-05-07.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a frothy offwhite head. Aroma of spicy hops and caramel. Flavor of spicy hops and caramel. The body is light with an oily texture and low carbonation. Entertains while waiting for the main course.

Hazy medium orange, head way too big no matter what I tried when pouring. Aroma was bread and some moldy floral hops. Flavor was bread, anise hops, almost seedy somehow. As it warmed, a bit of caramel arrived. Did not care for the hop profile of this at all.

16.9 oz bottle. Best before 07/18/06.
Cloudy amber with a fluffy tan head.
Despite careful pour I still ended up with yeast floaties in the glass.
Head disapates slowly leaving small patches of lace.
Aroma is mostly caramel, with some light woodieness.
Flavor is lightly caramel with a citrus zest finish.

BCA (from Sainsburys). M ainly malt and fruit aromas with a light background of caramel. Thin with a metallic finish. Not great.

Nice looking ugly light brown/orange/copper with a generous amount of yeasties swimming around. Huge, rocky, light tan head. Aroma of roasty malt and strong, piney hops-smells like a cross between an amber and an ipa. Roasty malt beginning quickly yields to bitter, piney hops, some clove in the finish with yeast adding a bit of depth. Medium/full creamy body, easy drinking. Excellent.

Strong amber hues with a solid stable and built head. Some continued carbonation flow, but nothing to take away from the crisp, fresh flavors of the malted grains. Balanced well with some hop essence on the nose. Subtle complex tastes. Went well with good Mexican food after the sampling.
