Strong sweet berry, raisin fruit aroma, hoppy and yeasty. Dry hoppy, yeasty palate, notes of toffee albeit a little understated. Interesting blend but slightly harsh, never really shines, . The appearance is a dirty orange with a moderate head. The flavor is fairly bitter with some grass and citrus fruit. The aftertaste is quite bitter. This is a pretty decent pale ale. maltdog (514), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2004 Bottle. Pours attractive orange, fairly clear. Second pour, with lees, is murky russet. Initial fluffy beige head dimishes to a fuzzy cap that stays to the last sip. Lovely streams of tiny bubbles and nice lacing. Aromas of buttercream malt and a decent bit of pungent resiny hops. Fruity flavor with caramel apples, spicy hop, and citric tartness. Light creamy palate is scoured clean by perfect pinpoint carbonation. Tangy citric aftertaste with very mild bitterness leaves you wanting more. Pleasant and true to style. Ungstrup (15111), Frederiksberg, Denmark

When a beer shares the name of the pub, how can you resist? Well, qute easily... fairly brown, fairly malty, fairly average. Doesn’t taste the 5%. Nothing Premium about this. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Poured with yeast - clousy dark orange with a sloppy white head. Malty, citrusy aroma. Based on that, I was expecting this to be really maltysweet, but in fact there is hardly any sweetness in the flavor. Full flavored, sturdy hop profile throughout. dusty, dry finish.
