It has a fruity, malty aroma with a vegetal accent. It has a soft-dry flavor and it ends with a good bitterness. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 12, 2007 500 mL bottle. (I don’t know that I’ve ever had a bottle conditioned bitter before, other than my own.) Hazy copper-orange with a very small head. The aroma is mild and sweetish - burnt (okay, singed) caramel and candied fruit. The flavour is surprisingly mild and the beer is thinner than I expected as well. There is some spiciness, some thin malty sweetness, and a light fruitiness. Fills out a bit near the end. Slightly bitter finish. Not that this is a bad beer by any means. It’s just that I expected something a little grander due to the bottle conditioning. I don’t know why. I’ll age a couple of these and see what happens. PJClarke (709), London, Greater London, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2009 A roasty bitter. Thick and creamy containing some dark chocolate notes mingled with light woody flavours. Sweetness in the finish which takes the edge off of the hearty burnished nature of the brew. Fantastic mouthfeel. joe19612 (700), camberley, Surrey, England

Loads of hops, malts, and fruit in the aroma. The taste is full of flavour of malts and hops with roasted nuts which come through. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
