Aroma gives berry fruits, lightly toffee malts and floural hops. Taste is similar with not as much sweetness off the malts as i would have liked. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Mar 5, 2004 Boring, like most English ales...
Sparkling clear, light amber ale with a creamy, white head and sparse lacing.
The nose is fairly nondescript with the exception of some light, grassy, floral and citrus notes.
Tastes like a very typical English bitter. Pleasant, but bland. Light to medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation.
Short, woodsy finish. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Bottle. Not too bad, some nutty, malty bitterness, with some light caramel. Finish quite bitter and slightly green in character, pretty decent stuff. imdownthepub (5187), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Bottle Conditioned, 500 ml. Orange amber with short lasting head. Full flavoured premium bitter, heavy for a traditional beer, but drinkable all the same. This is a warm fireside, keep the cold out beer, cosy chat and never mind the time. There is a fruity maltiness abounding, fleshy but subtle, and hidden hop notes, mine was aged somewhat!! Woody resinous finish giving a solid statement to a decent beer.
