Hazy red/copper colour. No head, just small bubbles. Rich fruity aroma plus some yeast presence. Clean, earthy, fruity flavour. Slightly bitter in the finish. A good old ale! Quack-Duck (3214), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a large mostly-lasting fluffy off-white head. Very mild aroma and flavour of light caramel malt, fruit, faint hops with a touch of funkyness. A bit of sourness in the flavour as well and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. I was expecting more from this beer, I thought it was just O.K. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

Medium orange pour with a luxuriously thick creamy head and thick lacing. Had the same fizzy problem others have had - I attributed it to a bit of frozeneness due to the over cooled hotel mini fridge! Fruity aroma, some floral notes, very fresh. Delectable bitter flavor. Sweet and bitter at the same time with some mild citrus notes and hints of nuts. Very clean smooth mouthfeel. This is the knd of bitter that I could drink all night sitting in an English Pub. More please! hughie (3057), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Hazy reddish amber with some sediment. Large off-white head. Subtle and intriguing aroma: spicy and sweet with some fruit, perhaps melon or gooseberry. Taste malty but a delightful fresh raspberry sourness as well. Plenty of bitterness makes this an outstanding bottle-conditioned English ale. presario (2965), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
