Fresh, sweet oranges, light pine, caramel, toasted grains, stale bread, light cardboard and some residual malt sweetness. Moderate body. The flavor is fairly tasty with a nice balance of sweet malt and astringent hop juice. However, at times there is a bit of plasticity that reminds me slightly the one batch of homebrew I’ve made. Tasty, but slightly off at times. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Poured with yeast - clousy dark orange with a sloppy white head. Malty, citrusy aroma. Based on that, I was expecting this to be really maltysweet, but in fact there is hardly any sweetness in the flavor. Full flavored, sturdy hop profile throughout. dusty, dry finish. kujo9 (1078), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Mar 26, 2004 Medium amberish w/a short lived off white head of tiny bubbles! Sweet malty aroma w/an herbal hop on first sniff. Hop aroma becomes more floral as it warms and also becomes more caramelly and toasty malt. Also lightly nutty! Flavor is bitter with a nice malt back bone. Light caramel and toasty, very light roast and has a dry finish. Not terribly complex, but a nice session beer. Medium bodied w/ low carbonation, however it's sort of prickly on the tongue, otherwise fairly smooth Dorwart (1830), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Nice frothy and ricly head. Great lacing with decent carbonation. Nice aromatic bitterness. Little bit of citrus to go along with the big helping of hops. Some malt also. Color is a slightly cloudy dark copper. Slightly roasty flavor and pretty well balanced. More malt than hops in the flavor. Slight metallic flavor with some mellow caramel. Finish is slightly dry a a little bitter. The hops seem to disappear once you get past the aroma. Still, a decent bitter. larsniclas (3390), Gothenburg, Sweden

Full flavoured premium bitter, heavy for a traditional beer, but drinkable all the same. This is a warm fireside, keep the cold out beer, cosy chat and never mind the time. There is a fruity maltiness abounding, fleshy but subtle, and hidden hop notes, mine was aged somewhat!! Woody resinous finish giving a solid statement to a decent beer. Dark amber red, mild haze before dregs, with almost no head. Medim watery body with mild carbonation. Starts with mild sweetness, light apple flavor, and light acidity. Fruity hops with mild bittering at the finish. After is tart sweet acidic, with mild bittering. Nice ale. Adding dregs gives extra bitter, acidic tang. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Extremely clean and plain, with a hint of sourness. Good for the style. Nice caramel notes in the nose.
