Has been seen as Royal Oak Pale Ale and Royal Oak Traditional Bitter.
Ingredients: Optic Pale, Crystal, and Torrified Wheat malts; Challenger, Northdown and Goldings hops.
"Royal Oak is a pale ale of noble character in the grand tradition of British country brewing. Classically deep amber, rich in malt and fragrant with hop aroma, it’s a rounded, soft ale of beautifully balanced complexity and lasting finish."

Royal Oak Pale Ale, brewed in Devon, full of legends and Parliaments, and kings, Cromwell’s Roundheads, grilled meat and cheeseboard. Opaque, dark amber hue, maybe maroon?, highly carbonated, with a big fizzy head that drizzles down quick. Big cherry aroma, rich and malty, nice hops, rather mild, though. Sweet and serene. Nice. Remains sweet and tasty on the tongue. Decent hops, not too large, but a neat, if mild little firedance in the mouth. Continues bitter and sweet throughout. Cherry flavor dominates. Nice, but... Not one I’ll return to, unless I get filthy rich sometime soon. Quite different from other british pale ales, perhaps overly carbonated, a little too much for my taste. Just not loving it. MEh.

500ml - Best Before 022805 (Secret Santa cousin Rich) - Aroma is floral hops, citrus, and carmel malt. Pours copper with a huge head and great lacing. Flavor is a bit bland, more malt than hops, but the hops are still there. Palate is flat and watery. This one was still drinkable but I wonder what a freshy would score...

Sweet, fruity aroma with some hops. Lots of malt in the flavor with medium hops bitterness. Well rounded without any edges.

0.5 l bottle. Slightly hazy dark amber color with small head. Sweet and sour aroma with flowery and fruity hops as well as wild yeast. Sour, bitter, fruity, biscuity and berryish flavor with horsey notes of brettanomyces wild yeast. The wild yeast character might not be intentional but fits fairly well to this beer.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a medium, creamy, long-lasting, beige head. Malty aroma with some hops, some nuts, mild fruitiness, and light toastiness. Sweetish malty flavor, a bit of caramel, a bit of biscuits and slightly bitter finish. Rounded and medium-bodied. Not bad.

Pours a hazy dark orange-red with a thin off white cover. A nice fruity caramel aroma, citrus orange and an woodiness. Taste if unfortunately thinner, light caramel, a nuttiness, and more grapefruit fruity hops.
