[draught] Alcohol and malt on the nose, with some hops. Large, lasting, creamy white head on a mid-brown beer. The initial sweetness of this well-bodied beer has a vinous note that persists in the finish along with an astringent note. Doesn't drink like a 5% beer, so be careful!

This bottled brew poured a large sized head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing and a dark orange brown colored yeasty semi-transparent body. The aroma was mediumly hopped with a good caramel note. The mouth feel was initially mildly harsh with a medium hoppy feeling that surprisingly disappears in the finish rather quickly leaving behind only a mild hop aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild caramel mixed with hops and a fair amount of malt keeping the bite down.

This is the former Eldridge Pope/Thomas Hardy beer, now resurrected (along with some other Eldridge Pope brews, Thomas Hardy Ale included) by O'Hanlons. Rich mid amber colour. I wouldn't call this a pale ale, despite what the (old) label might suggest. More of a strong bitter. And a very fruity one at that. Plums and damsons. But underpinned by an assertive hoppiness, leading to a clean, slightly acidic finish, which counterpoints the fruit effectively. Medium bodied and well balanced. Rather nice. Cask conditioned at the Commercial Inn, Dunfermline. Copper colour, nice bubbly head. Aroma is complex, mostly hoppy. Palate is filled with fruits and malt with dry herbal aftertaste.

Draught. Amber with a long lasting cream head. Malt, wood and floral hop aromas. Malty flavour with plenty bitterness and hop character.

This was an interesting beer that had lots of really good flavor to it. Not sure why its classified as a ESB on this site but it was pretty darn good. The rating on this is a bit low I think,

This is the same as the pale ale, as it’s labelled in the US, to appeal to that market. It is a bitter, and a very good one. A fruity tasty bitterness, greapefruit from Challenger and Goldings hops and lots of good comlex malting. Smooth, great lacing. Strong on the palate.

Amber colour with a generous, rocky head. It is malty and slightly grapefruity bitterness. Very pleasant beer.
