honeyed black tea taste comes through as well with some hop resonance. and a subtle tartness. excellent. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2008 2004 Bottle. Pours murky brown with no head. Surprisingly vinous aroma, alcohol, caramel, grape, and cream. Also some unappealing sweat smell. Big bold flavors; caramel, smoke, fruit, alcohol. Unfortunately, its not balanced at all. This is just not ready, still needs many years. NachlamSie (1643), Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Bottle of the ’05. Pours a distinctly cloudy orange with a tall white head. The aroma is surprisingly fruity with pineapple, some brandy, licorice, some kind of cream or something. It’s pretty unique but very balanced and assertive. Palate is pretty heavy with loads of fruit flavor. Mellow citrus is noticed first and a slow transition to darker vinous notes occurs. The finish is juicy and sweet with a grainy quality accompanied by berries, maybe apple. This is actually quite tasteful and a bold treat. Gethinbeer (1003), Nova Scotia, Canada

Merky amber appearance with a thin lace that sticks to the end. Smooth texture. Fruit flavour, liquorice. Very tasty indeed for the alcohol content. Very enjoyable beer. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA
