Aroma is incredible, the most rich smelling beer I’ve ever encountered...odor of figs, dark fruit, molasses. Very sweet initial taste, syrupy mouthfeel. I’m blown away by the aroma, but not used to a beer with no carbonation at all, too syrupy and strong for me. Interesting, although I’m a bit disappointed... beerbobWFM (17), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Poured a very dark brown very slight carbonation. It had a a nice aroma of rasins and dried apricot, hints of molasses and some carmel. I was not a huge fan of this one, it was very sweet and had a powerful flavor of rasins, prunes and some eathiness to it. It finished with a huge taste of alcohol and a big burn on the finish. a little too much for me,,but given time this one will mature nicely.Great for after dinner or instad of a port. Overwhelming molasses flavor, thick, syrup-like. Over roasted, just plain horrible. I hate this beer. I will never waste my money on this trash again, what a disappointment. douglas88 (1675), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

The aroma is really nice; super sweet hints of candy, some burnt brown sugar, and dark fruit. The taste is mostly a really sweet and thick caramel, brown sugar, cherry, raisin, and other sweet things. There is also some light hops. No alcohol burn, but some warmth. Not bad at all, but a dessert beer for sure. pivnizub (5096), Bochum, Porúří, Germany
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Bottle (vintage 2005): A bit unclear, deep ruby-amber coloured, no head to speak of; rich sweet-vinous fruitiness (cherries, blackcurrant) in the aroma, not far from a Port; full seet flavour, full bodied; warming alcohol in the long sweet finish, ending with traces of chocolate and dry hops in the aftertaste. A good Port, made of barley....... saxo (3651), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark
