bluemeow76 (685), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA Jun 4, 2003 Pours a dark brownish red color with a medium tan head. Aroma is malty and almost that of rotten fruit. The bottle we had was really old so I think it may have gone bad. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 21, 2003 Bottled in 2001: I took one sip and spit it back into the glass. Tart, sour, vomitous flavor. Undrinkable. Sorry Dogbrick, but this is past its time. I mourn the passing of what was at one time probably a decent beer. Darkover (1214), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 18, 2003 Dark amber color with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of nuts spices and berries. This is an old bottle from Dogbricks find, and it doesn't taste like a brown ale anymore, it has a sour fruity flavor. Almost like Flemish sour ale. I liked it. Dogbrick (2266), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 16, 2003 Found at the Wine Vault in Dublin, OH. This brewer is out of business so my sample is a little old. Pours a really pretty dark brownish red color with a medium and lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and fruit. Unfortunately the flavor suffered from age. The malt flavor was overpowered by a sour taste and I could not finish it. This was probably a lot better fresh. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Oct 11, 2002 Dark brown color. A medium bodied brown ale. Roasted malts, chocolaty. Fairly hoppy for a brown ale. Good flavor, smooth. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is smooth and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
