Ultra dark brown brew that is pretty much black with a thick medium tan head and very good messy lacing. Solid upfront aroma, powdered chocolate - quite a bit of it. Lots of roasted malts that are not too powerful, some stinky floral presence.. is something a bit off?? Dunno what it is. Bitter chocolate flavour turns into a softer chocolate, tons of roast, the bitterness hits in mid sip, some citrus hops. Pretty straight forward. Some coffee but it is just a tad. Smooth, good bite and a lingering roast finish. mcberko (160), British Columbia, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 17, 2009 Pours a nice black with an off-white head. Flavour is roasted malt, but quite generic other than that. Goes down smooth. More drinkable than most macros. Cole (311), , Alberta, Canada

Very smooth, nice roasted malt flavour, but a kind of unpleaseent sweetness in the finish, A beet like this should be crisp and dry... Not much body. Very niice. I will have to try it on tap next. This was a tasty black lager. Loved the mixed dark malts and light hops. This is a beer to drink all the time a great session beer.

Aroma is very stout like with coffee and burnt malts dominating. Taste is much the same coffee, ash, light malts and all are very sweet with bitterness showing up in the finish. Very drinkable light tasting brew glad I found it on tap. turboespresso (76), Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada

Not very carbonated but ok in that department. Hops are not strong. Coffee and nut flavours are present, with a hint of licorice in the finish.
