Nov 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear darkbrown beer with a lightbrown head. The aroma is roasted and sweet. The flavor is malt, sweet and roasted with notes of wood. The palate is bitter. Overall a good beer.

Aug 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a big beige head. Aroma is soft, chocolate, oatlike, some bitter coffee. Not a lot of smoke. Flavour’s got smoke, however. Not massive, but quite a bit. Coffee, smoke, wood, liquorice, burnt notes, akin to whiskey barrel aged ales. Quite bitter in the finish. A wee bit thin, but this is good.

May 20, 2009 bottle, pours a very dark brown, nearing black, with a medium dark tan head. Roasted malt, molassis, and an assertive hoppiness in the nose. Roasted malt and a bitter bakers chocolate kind of body, some hop bitterness and a little hint of smoke lingering in the finish. Light carbonation, the beer is silky smooth and medium in body. Good brew.
