This is one of the best beers I have tasted. An Aroma from Heaven I usually poor it from the bottle an hour before I drink it so that i can go smell it while making dinner. And while standing in the room it gets the perfect temperature. Takes about an hour to drink sometimes more. Really enjoys this one...hard to get in sweden though but Wickedwine can help you to import it. nuplastikk (1255), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Smooth and creamy, with a mild smoky taste. Deliciously soft on the tongue, a completely subtle treasure. Minimal hopping and the low alcohol gives it a watery drinkability. This is a great Porter. cgarvieuk (4225), Edinburgh, Scotland

ABV is now 4.7%. My comments are basically the same as for "Branded Drinks Coal Fire Porter", so the two beers must indeed be identical. A lovely drop! Original rating: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger, under its alias "Branded Drinks Coal Fire Porter". (Are you sure they are exactly the same beer?) ABV is 4.6%. BB date Oct 08. Pitch black colour, large tan head. Lovely aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and plums, with a hint of liquorice. Distinctly roasty flavour with notes of coffee, hints of peat, smoke and tar, bitter finish. The mouthfeel could have been fuller, but this is still a good beer! harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England

Porter is such an under made and under appreciated style, every brewery should make one and brew it on a regular basis, it’s a great style. And this is an interesting version. Odd burst of hops on aroma. You expect roast malt/choc/coffee or sour liquorice, but it’s choc hop instead. In mouth there’s liquorice and choc and then tight hop bite on the end with more liquorice. Interesting hop/liquorice/choc balance thewolf (5836), Kolding, Denmark

Pours deep, almost black, with slight red edges. A big, frothy, light-beige head - fine creaminess. Settles as a few millimeters. Super aroma with good, balanced smoke, dark chocolate and softly roasted. Low carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Wonderfully balanced smoky flavour, dry cocoa and a long, lingering aftertaste with mild bitterness. Great! faroeviking (6128), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Lovely dark chocolate and well roasted malt with some smoke in the aroma. Bit thin mouthfeel. The flavour is really nice with soft well roasted malt, chocolate, some smoke and bitter hops. Great brew! TheGrandMaster (1877), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Bottle (in NZ). Pours black with a large pillowy brown head. A big roasty and smoky aroma, bitter chocolate and oak. Slightly oily palate, but still quite light. The malty flavours are more subtle than I expected, but still plenty of roast. Pretty well put together at 4.8%
