wheresthepath (320), Buckinghamshire, England Jun 21, 2008 [Cask at Back of Beyond, Reading, April 2008] Odd - a traditional best bitter flavour (despite the pale colour) on the foretaste, a huge hit of ginger and chilli on the aftertaste - in the manner of having a teaspoon of the dried spice just after finishing your beer. Very unusual, and rather enjoyable provided you don’t mind losing your sense of taste for some time after! Not sure I’d want an entire pint for fear of indigestion or a digestive cataclysm. Definitely one to split opinions.

Sweet flavor with caramel and a pepper bite in the end. lagomswedish (206), Umeå, Sweden Jul 14, 2008 Draft at The Ship in Whitstable High Street. This beer really does make you sit up and take notice, Pours a pale straw colour with a spicy hoppy aroma backed with ginger. My lips actually felt like they were burning drinking this beer - the owner of the pub makes his own EXTREMELY hot pickled eggs and I thought a drop of juice from the jar must have got into my pint!
Never experienced a chilli hit like it, but overall a very rich, flavoursome pint that demands to be remembered. bobinlondon (485), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 9, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW St. Albans. Hazy gold with a healthy white head. A fairly ordinary North West bitter to start with but the ginger and chilli soon start tickling the tastebuds and this develops into quite an unusual experience. Overall, dry and moreish. I liked it more than I thought I would.
