Commercial Description:
Bottled. Filtered and force-carbonated.
"Dr Okells is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste, the sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness."

500ml bottle A good IPA but not amongst the best. I was perhaps expecting a bit much(see rating on Okells aile) But still it is enjoyable.

Just like the cask version, this beer’s predominant aromas and flavours are citrus, especially lemon and grapefruit. There are hints of lemongrass and the finish is zesty and hoppy.

50cl bottle from Sainsburys. Amber with a fast fading white head leaving a rather flat looking drink; aroma has dusty hops and some cereal; citrus flavour but rather sweet; leaving a floury taste of under-cooked pastry.

Bottle, from Sainsbury, Grimsby. Straw gold, thin but lasting white head and gentle condition. Pleasant citrusy hops and grainy malt in the nose, quite thin and dry in the mouth with touches of flowery hop and low malt, dry and hop bitter briefly in the finish.

Pale yellow and plentiful white head of large bubbles. The colour was promising. The nose is a little too subtle, slightly fruity, slightly leafy dry hops. Biscuity flavours go into a fairly subtle, fairly simple but peppery hop profile.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Pours pale gold with a billowing, off-white head. Aroma of straw, dusty malt and some grassy hops. Flavour was bitter with biscuit malt and a decent finish. Good.
