Lacking the overpowering flavour that some wheat beers have it is a very refreshing but slightly delicate drink. Considering that it comes from the Isle of Man not a country you usually assoociate with this style this to my mind is an example of how refreshing a wheat beer can be. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Clear gold with huge, off-white head, very finely lacing. VERY nice nose with hops, lunaria , kafir leaf, wheat and grain sheaf, hay. Again a very fresh, hoppy (my guess are the NZL hops...); just bitter main taste, perfumey, and a soft, mineral water with sweetness and some salt. Light bodied, but nowhere empty - mineral water quality. Definitely one of the BEST wheatbeers I’ve ever tasted. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England

The large bold beige head was frozen in time and politely stepped aside to watch me drink the beer to the bottom. Not a wheat beer in the European sense more like a blond ale. Fruity with larger rounded palate. Very filling and very rewarding. Hugh (129), Breda, Netherlands

Grapefruit/lemon character from an unusual hop combination. Filtered, but with cask character. Being more used to Belgian witbier, I couldn’t really detect the wheat, but there again, I can’t in Hop Back Thunderstorm. shrubber85 (2894), Wallhalben, Germany

Clear yellow/orange color, much fraught, hazy and with optimal fizz. Not a lot decided aroma but with notes of hop and dried malts indeed pleasant. Much English taste, notes of wood, resin, burn malt, cortex. Indeed remarkable bitter and alcohol... very balanced. Slow final.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2009 500 ml bottle bought at Meny Liertoppen. A dense foamy white head rising from a crystal cear, pale golden, well carbonated body. Nice hoppy aroma; flowers, ripe citrus and freshly cut grass. Notes of honey. A light, dry and delicate malt body, a fine earthy and grassy bitterness with fruity undertones. Properly light-bodied. Fresh. MIld, lasting bitterness in the finish. Clean, crisp and quenching. Top notch Golden Ale. bierkoning (6041), La Tropica, Netherlands
