Jul 9, 2008 (Cask at Queens Hotel pub, Douglas, on 2008-07-04) Deep amber. Clear. Medium-sized dense tan head. Medium and slightly sugary palate. Malts, hint of syrup, liquorice and some lightly roasted malts in taste.

Feb 18, 2008 Cask/gravity at Battersea Beer Festival 6 Feb 08. Dark brown / mahogany colored. A tiny layer-head. Modest aroma with traces of raisins. Watery flavor with an evolving taste of prunes. No bitterness.

May 5, 2007 Cask at The Cricketers, Keighley, West Yorkshire, 04-05-07. Poured dark brown, some cocoa notes but other than that it had very little to say, in fact I wrote very little about it at all, still I drank it and it was pleasant enough.

Feb 13, 2007 Cask gravity at Battersea BF 2007. Dark brown with no head. Dullish dark mild, not much flavour. Some dark toffee, but mostly tasteless water. But it’s a mild, what do you expect?
