Nov 28, 2006 Pours a deep dark amber/ light brown with a thin white head. Aroma is toasty and woody with hints of smoke and char- nutty and light chocolate. Wierd sharp light chocolate and caramel with woody and campfire smoke- mineral-like and dry finish. Ok overall- somewhat unique- couldnt quite figure out what kind of style this was.

Nov 25, 2006 dark ruby-mahogany color, ruby amber at edges. head is tall and fluffy, medium tan. aroma is syrupy molasses malt, a little caramel. flavor is kind of the same, sweetish malt with some llicorice candy, syrupy roasted caramel. finishes out more dry and bitter.

Nov 19, 2006 Black/brown with a grayish/off white cap. Simple flavor and aroma of lightly smoked malt and subtle spice. Light/medium body, well carbonated. Nice session brew.

Nov 19, 2006 Dark, dark garnet color, yet clear and not quite opaque. Brief antique lace head that gets thin and coats the glass. Smokey sweet caramel taste, like a Bavarian smoked lager although not as mouth-coating and cloying. Very little in the way of hop bitterness. This is a thinner version of their porter with smokiness added and w/o the ABV kick. Pretty decent brau!

Nov 8, 2006 Deep brown color with a medium head. Kind of a cardboardy yet toffee aroma. Sweet malt taste, but with a musty and semi-moldy aftertaste. Not enough to ruin it completely, but it definitely dampens my enthusiasm for it.

Nov 7, 2006 Bottle, dark with ruby tints and a thin tan head. A subtle roasted aroma with hints of chocolate. Carbonated and sweet, molasses-like flavour and a very sweet finish.

Nov 5, 2006 The aroma is sweet with toasted malt and chocolate but is weaker than it should be. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma and is moderately bitter. The palate is thin and the aftertaste is sweet toasted malt and chocolate. Overall it’s not that great but it has one really nice finish.

Nov 2, 2006 Poured out very dark with tan head. Light aroma of roasted and burnt malts. Not exactly the Black Patent I’m used to smelling in Porters. Something else. Very nice burnt malts and roasted malt flavor mixed with some sweet caramel malts. Really nice combination of flavors makes for a tastier than average Dunkel.
