Commercial Description:

The dark colour and intense taste is due to a unique process of malt fire-burning. A process that requires craftsmanship and precision from the brewer. As a result a beer has been created with a slightly sweet taste at first sip and a nice bitter follow through.

500 ml can. Dark ruby red, almost black. Thick fine-laced greyish head. Dry lightly roasted malts. Subdued aromas. Toffee and burnt caramel. Rich sweetness balanced by burnt malts. Interesting combination. Smoke notes. Seems like there as been used beechwood smoked malts in the beers as it resembles a rauchbier, just not as bold. The sweetness and roastedness is quite nice, but not far from cloying. More potent than your average dunkel. Quite bitter as it leaves a drying feeling in the mouth after swallowing. Without the bitterness it would have too sweet.

[From can] Dark brown colour. Light caramelly along with a little smoke and coffee. There are more bitterness, than in the dunkels we know.

Bottle @ Tres Bonne Cuisine, a local polish deli: Dark brown color, light head and lacing. Nose of light smoke, some roast and honey malt. Flavor of light sweet malt, a bit of earthy caramelly notes in the tail. A dark lagerish style beer with a bit of smoke, a bit more interesting that the regular okocim stuff.

Bottle from State Line. Deep brown pour with 1-finger khaki head. Aroma of roasty malt, chocoff, fruit, molasses, slight rauch. The taste was roasty malty, with chocoff, molasses, slight cherry notes, and slight smoky hints. The palate is fairly rich, with a decent complexity, and a semi-sweet, portery finish.

Can (500ml). Via trade with Biegaman, thanks again, Jan!. Opaque ruby-black with a massive foamy tan lasting head. Dark roasty aroma, molasses, tart fruits, a little peaty - almost like burnt sugar. Taste .... there’s not much, really - sort of smokey and roasty, a bit of root beer character, dry and a touch metallic - quick to disappear off the tongue. Thin body, creamy mouthfeel, soft and only lightly carbonated - not bad, but I would like a little more malt oomph in the taste.

Pours a dark reddish brown color with a thin head. Aroma is full of sweet malts with a definite smokey notes. Beer is somewhat thin and smokey on top of an obvious sweet juicy flavor. Not an outstanding beer but definitely easy to drink.

Can. Too sweet for my taste, a bit like a beer cordial made with too much syrup.
