| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Brown with quickly diminishing tan head. Aroma is very vegetal, like green beans or pees. There’s some light sweet malt in there too. Taste is of green peas, wtf? Also some caramel, toffee and of course more vegetal qualities to round things out. There’s some light hop character to it, but for the most part this brew is a bit strange and I’m not likely to go back to it anytime soon. alexen84 (29), Australia

This is very much unlike a carrot, which is orange with a green top and comes in various diameters. Another very un-carrot like property is its taste. With the carrot you get a distinctly carroty flavour with maybe a hint of mud, however this beverage offers a malty, coffee and slightly burnt, caramel sweetness. There’s a particular bitterness left over with this which I did not find with carrot - even the soft old ones. Overall this was an enjoyable beer that could have delivered a bit more, although it got better the more that was drunk. Either that or I need to stop eating carrots whilst I rate beers. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2008 In the 0.5L bottle from Beertopia. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Mild chicory aroma. Really nice thickness to this. I’m surprised at the quality for such a cheap beer ($2.99). Licorice and roastedness to the finish. This seems more porter-like and less dunkel. Nice lacing left over. I’d reccomend this beer at the price. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2008 Not so great - tastes of alcohol, and it’s only 5.5% abv. WTF? A weird flavor, for sure. Pretty sweet. Keep in mind I LOVE dunkels, but I don’t love this brew. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2008 Pour is dark brown with some ruby highlights and a thinnish off white head...smell is sweet with some figs and plums along with some sour currant like notes....most interesting nose...taste is lightly sweet with some faint smoky flavors...lots of earth fruits and a subtle ry bread type bitterness... cathcacr (592), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 11, 2008 Bottle. Smalll tan head that mostly diminished, spotty lacing, transparent, fast rising carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. The aroma was malt, dark fruits, some toffee, and semi-sweet. The flavor was malt, sweet, dark fruits, and nutty. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodies. Easy to driink but nothing special about this beer IMO that left me wanting this again and there are better to drink of this style IMO.
