Commercial Description:
13.4P
The dark colour and intense taste is due to a unique process of malt fire-burning. A process that requires craftsmanship and precision from the brewer. As a result a beer has been created with a slightly sweet taste at first sip and a nice bitter follow through.

RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, Piccadilly Station, Manchester. Bottle. Why this crap has such a high score it;s out of my head ! Dark brown, sugar caramel nose. Flavour is very sweet malty, coke, maple syrup. Very artificial.

aroma of cola, nuts and a lightly boozy end. body is pitch with some translucence at center in direct light. flavor is more nuttiness and a nearly root beer like sweetness that straddles ’offensive’. some mollasses as well. no articulated roast notes. oily, wet palate.

[bottle @ RBESG 2009] Molasses, chestnuts, sweet plums and raisin aroma. Clear dark brown with a thin, beige top. Sticky sweet molasses flavour with no bitterness and a faint coffee accent. Medium body, sweet, low carbonation.

Wow, retired. That makes this extra special! ha. Pours a clear but very dark seemingly dull/opaque reddish chocolate color with a really nice dense creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, malt flour, a bit roasty, balanced caramel, pretty nice. Flavor follows, a bit smokey, porter like roastiness, a little sweet tanginess, finishing sweet roasty with lots of caramel notes, long smokey bitter chocolate aftertaste but still some sour sweet tang that lingers. Medium bodied, just slightly chewy with great fine fizzy sizzling carbonation. Pretty darn good, love the smokiness!

Bottle. Poured a clear brown with a beige head. Aroma had notes of roasted and burnt malts leading to a bit of a burnt caramel note. Flavor was nicely balanced between sweet malts and more grain malts towards the finish.

sweet nutty chocolate on the nose. some fruit as well. dark brown pour with a nice lingering of white head. watery mouthfeel that seems to not match the look of the beer. great malty sweetness on the palate. initial taste is a tad bit smokey with some sweet fruit. not a bad beer.

Bottle. Caramel, malty sweet chocolate aroma. Dark brown body with a ruby tint. Thin long lasting off-white head. Great lacing. Semi-sweet malty caramel flavor. Full bodied. Weaker finish. Solid drinkable beer.
