Not extremely tight, but lots of bubbles. Flavors of chocolate and a little bit of alcohol in there too, but not too alcoholy to make it unpleasant. Smooth flavor. Though having no bearing on the review I thought it was cute they had a picture of a goat on the label drinking a beer!! Who says the Polish don’t have a bit of a sense of humor. I could drink this fairly frequently, and even as a "lawnmower" beer because the body is on the thin side. While I won’t call this a "one for the ages" beer, its still pleasant enough to keep in the cabinet for a rainy day. troopie (906), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Bottle. Poured black with thin, fast dissipating tan head. When it’s gone, it looks rather like a cola drink. Strong aroma of raisins and alcohol. Date, prune and raisin notes in flavour, also some alcohol. Lingering middle of the tongue sweetish finish. stefanje (955), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Updated: Aug 28, 2009500 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a jet black color with a small tan head. The aroma is a moderate in strength for a porter with molasses, dates and a bit of alcohol showing-thru. The flavor showcases a big black licorice presence with more molasses, dates and raisins filling in the sides. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. The finish is short with a bit of a distracting alcohol taste lingering. Overall: this is an above average porter. Recommended. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2008 This porter goes heavily on the pruney/raiseny side of the porter. Too much so for a few of my friends trying this beer with me. I rather enjoyed the switch though. Not much coffee, and a bit of an alcohol burn. Definitely a porter worth trying. guyinchicago (538), marengo, Illinois, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 23, 2008 This is hardly something to drink all the time, but it’s wonderful. It’s essentially black (although less thoroughly black than, say, Samuel Smith’s Imperial Stout) with a medium, dense, light brown head that slowly dissipates to a thin foamy head and leaves a little decent lacing. The aroma is smooth chocolate and toast (but not as sharp or dark as many stouts, imperial or otherwise), prunes, hints of coffee and raisins. The taste is predominantly sweet with no real bitterness save a spiciness that gives a faint bitter quality to it. It is rich, smooth, and fairly oily, with a full body and tastes of spice, prunes, with hints of chocolate, coffee, and licorice, while there is a noticeable but pleasant & smooth alcoholic quality from start to finish. The finish is nice, long, but suprisingly clean and chocolaty with elements of fruit and warming alcohol. It’s quite easy to drink, more so than imperial stouts usually seem to be. nearbeer (1880), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Cocoa, toasted cereal, acidic molasses, fruit and herb aromas are nice. Taste begins with a nice balance of the same: fruit-n-herb, malty cocoa and molasses flavors. The finish tilts more to the roast malt, coffee, and cocoa flavors. Well hidden alcohol. Medium-heavy body is very smooth and has a drying, slightly astringent finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2008 A dark cola colored beer with medium foamy beige head. Scent is sweet malts, slighly burnt toast, coffee grounds. Sticky sweet, with plenty of roasted malt flavors and more sweetness with alcohol noticeable in the finish. Medium to lightly thick body, low carbonation. Reminds me of a Dopplebock. A bit sweet but I like this!
