500ml bottle, thanks to SoLan. The nose has a really nice chewy caramel chocolate note, sweet and sticky is what it seems like from the smell. Low hop presence, thankfully, but also low roast - not a detriment, but rather the nose focuses on the sticky chocolate syrup smell more than any roast. Quite good smell to this one. Flavorwise it has light roast up front becoming more apparent in a coarse and drying finish. More flavors of chocolate, some liquer notes, some chewy malts. Very well done, but the body may be a little light, but overall I have very few complaints, and I’m surprised by some of the poor rartings. Seems to have the same nice sweetness and malt-forwardness found in doppelbock, which is probably why I like it so much. The boozy note in the lingering, sticky aftertaste makes it all work.

Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Faint nose of sweet malt and licorice and smoke. Nice lacing on the glass. The flavor is sweet, raisins, licorice. Nice on the palate, but something of a medicinal finish. I have to note my remarks thouigh that this is the only example I’ve tried of a Baltic Porter.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, molasses, caramel malts, and only slight roasted malts. Flavor has more of the roasted malts then the nose suggested. Flavor is of roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, and a little bitterness on the finish. Overall a decent porter.

Bottle. Pours black with a creamy tan head. The aroma is fruity, sweet and vinous with a small roasted malt quality. Is this what true baltic porters are supposed to taste like? This was so much more fruity, vinous, and yeasty than expected. Some molasses noted in the finish. I dont know what to think about this beer. But Im not incredibly excited to finish my glass so I guess that says something,

In the 500 mL bottle from Beertopia. Pours black with a very dark thick creamy brown head. Superb fruity aroma reminiscent of a can of fruit cocktail. Fantastic thickness! This is an awesome porter that is woefully underrated here IMO. I paid $3 for this bottle and it is far better than many beers at three times the price. Will definitely buy this again and turn others onto it.

From a 500 ml bottle purchased at "Kellers IGA" in Cincinnati, Ohio - This brew pours a VERY dark brown brew with a sweet, floral aroma and small, thin head of off-white foam. Tastewise, it has certain "syrupy" overtones which mark the Baltic Porters, and a sweet, cloying aftertaste.

16.9 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a wispy off white head that quickly dissipates to a thin collar.

The aroma is sweet chocolate and vinous fruits.

The flavor is sweet sugary chocolate malts, vinous dark fruits, and some tarry smoke followed by some offsetting bitterness. As it warms, the molasses sweetness becomes a little cloying. The mouthfeel is medium to full with some sharpish carbonation.

Overall, a nice complex porter. A little too far on the sweet side.

This is one of those beers you pass over for years. I didn’t know what I was missing. It has a hearty roasted malt aroma. The flavor is much more interesting with dry malt, more roasted character with some wood, some sugar, fermenting fruit, and a touch of red wine.
