There’s something about this that captivates me. Not what I’m used to this bottle kept me intrigued. Nice roasty aroma with a powerful sweetness reminiscent of dark fruits. Pour is nice and medium dark with a great tan head and lots of visually wonderful lacing. Moderately thin compared to American porter standards but very creamy and fullfilling afterwards. Interesting flavor, really sweet considering but it works nicely. There is almost a port quality here. Bitter and amazingly sweet this one is very good. Barley69 (23), Rochester, New York, USA

I am really starting to believe that America is the beer capital of the world.
We didnt invent it, we just perfected it!
I had high hopes for this beer but it stuck in my mouth and took several glasses of water to thin in out!
wont try again - even if it free! crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA

Taste is chocolate malts with a touch of roasted malts, lots of caramel malts, and a blast of sugary sweetness, mollasses. Pretty sweet with some dark fruits as well, lots of sugar but balanced with the chocolate malts, a touch of cofee in the finish and more rich sweetness, medium mouthfeel, warming alcohol. This was an awesome beer. GonZoBeeR (2161), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2007 Bottle. Medium sized tan fizzy head that mostly diminished, poor amount of lacing, semi-opaque, visible carbonation on the sides of the mug, and a dark brown with a hint of ruby for the hue. Nose was malty, semi-sweet and chocolate. Flavor was semi-sweet, malty, chocolate, mildly vinuous, and somewhat thick tasting. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth and somewhat thick. Medium body. Decent for the style, quaffable, goes down smooth. Worthy of a try. Dorwart (1814), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 Large light brown head of medium sized bubbles. Minimal carbonation. Soft malt and milk chocolate aroma with some sweetness. Bit of roastynes also. Color is a very dark brown. Sweet and roasty flavor. Some soy sauce, milk chocolate again, brown sugar and toasted marshmallow. Sweet and creamy in the mouth. Finishes smooth and sweet. Light alcohol presence. A decent baltic porter but a little on the sweet side. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A bit light in body, sweet tasting, too sweet. Good in small doses, but that’s it. bhensonb (4287), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Roasted malt aroma, fairly dark roasted, accompanied by a little chocolate. Dark brown color with a transient tan head. Starts malty sweet, followed by really dark roasted flavors, something of a molasses character. Suggestions of dark fruit, but not finding chocolate. Rather full mouthfeel. The finish is mostly malt residue, not finding any bitter. Although there is a chocolate character remaining!
