Aroma of roasted malt, lightly alcoholic, some coffee. Flavour adds some bitter dark chocolate in addition to the coffee and malt, with the high alcohol content very well hidden in an almost wine-like character and lightly sweet thoughout with dark fruit. A very nice porter, and definitely the finest of the Okocim beers, if not of any Polish beer that I’ve had to date. The only thing keeping this back a point or two is that the sweetness became mor evident and slightly cloying towards the end of the glass. A minor gripe only, as this remained supremely drinkable throughout. Very good! Almost opaque, very clear great head stand. A fair amount of mellow roasty notes forward followed by a very sweet malty taste that lingers, the hops noted are subdued significantly by the complexity of the alcohol found here. Medium bodied, very effervescent and a easy drinker. LeoTheBeerKing (10), Canada

Aroma of figs, dates, prunes, molasses and raisins. Mouthfeel full, smooth, a little sticky. Flavor is the deep molasses and dark fruits present in the aroma. A bit of port pops through as well. Alcohol well-hidden. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Jwasciuk (194), Lowell, Michigan, USA

Sweet, sugary, fruity malty nose. Bready figgy aromas with dark berry notes. Mild lively with a great palate. Malt profile has notes of cookies, cola-prunes, cocoa, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, figs and spices. Finish is sweet and smooth and mildly bitter. Cloying sweetness. Tingling and lively. Balanced and well rounded. This is really good! BückDich (4854), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Bottle: Pours a dark brown color, tannish head and moderate lacing. Nose is very roasty and sweet with lots of plum, ethanol and chocolate candies. The flavor is nice and sweet, very robust and focused on those sweet roast characteristics. Lacks astringency and bitterness, which makes it more approachable, but it comes across a bit 2 dimentional then. Decent Baltic Porter though. O-koe-cheem!
