Damn, 500 ml is the perfect amount for this tulip glass and it looks good too. Dark black brown that allows some light on the edges with a chestnut brown head that touched the rim of the glass. Milk chocolate nose with powdered sugar. Smooth silky texture with a great mild chocolate flavor. I don’t know exactly how to put it in words it is so good. Not overpowering the 8 percent alcohol is not noticeable at all. Some vanilla mixes with the sweet chocolate nicely. A powdery feel in the finish brings out more cocoa and a hint of almond. Just a hint of grassy hop that keeps it balanced perfectly. A very slight strawberry emerges to add to the complexity here, but the chocolate is still embracing me nicely. I think this is the best porter I have ever had. Thank you Poland. Ap-5 ar-9 tas-9 pal-5 ov-20

King Corona in Tampa, Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a very thing dark tan head. Aroma was malty and sweet with a hint of alcohol. Flavor hid the alchohol well, but was overly sweet for me for a porter, chocolate dominated and bitterness was subdued. The palate was very slightly carbonated, but very smooth. Seemed a bit sweet for a porter.

Damn, this is the best porter I’ve ever tossed back, I mean sipped. Big thick chocolate brown pour w/ minimal froth. Perfectly sweet malted nose. The flavors are so big and bright. Unlike other porters. It’s like someone turned on the lights. A unique style all it’s own. Slightly sweet w/ your typical porter flavors but 10X’s more intense. The clencher was the slight hop on the finish adding to it’s complexity. Goes down velvety. Alcohol is well hidden. Great ballance. Highly recommended.

500ml bottle as a bonus from slob! - Thanks Bert! - Pours dark opaque brown with a creamy tan head that stays very well and laces the sides of the glass in layers. Aromas of big chocolate, coffee, and a touch of raisins. Flavor is a nice smooth blend of chocolate, coffee, a touch of liccorice, some roasted, smokey malts, and some raisin. Smooth creamy mouthfeel with a sweet lingering aftertaste. Definitely unique, complex, and not too bad..

I finally got a bottle after endless rumours and ghost sightings in Alberta. This one courtesy of a trade with blankboy. One very dark beer with a lasting dark head. The head is maintained with a steady light carbonation. Scent is coffee and chocolate with hints of alcohol, charcoal and prune. Beer is dusty and creamy in the mouth. Flavour starts chocolate and coffee with a sour burst at the end and a long sweet chocolate finish that fuels the demand from your tastes buds to drink again until you are forced to obey or go mad at their deafening noise.

(02.14.06) 500 mL bottle purchased online from Beergeek.com 8.3% ABV. Black hued porter having a small off-white head. Soft carbonation. Intoxicating aroma of fruity roasted malt. Medium-to-full bodied porter that starts with light malt sweetness and cacophony of raisin, prune, and roasted malt flavors. Finishes with light roasted malt flavor and lingering bitterness. Smooth, creamy, and full of flavors.. Simply delicious. Bardzo smaczne, dziekuje Okocim!

Another good baltic provided by MDs, thanks Mike! Opaque pour, with a thick mocha cap. Coffe, roasted malt, milk chocolate, and campfire all fill the nose. Nice! Sweet roasted malt and dark rum are all here for the mouth party, and are welcome! Bitter coffee, chocolate too! A good flavour profile. Boozey and warming. ABV is noticable, but pleasant. Thanks mike!

500ml bottle
Pours deep dark opaque brown with some ruby on the edges if held up to a light. Medium fluffy tan head forms that sticks around for a while, then settles to a thin layer on the top and remains for the duration. Pleasingly complex aroma of bready malt, some roast grain, licorice and pepper. Flavor similarly complex, with big sweet malt hitting first, then medium roast grain, then a dash of spicy peppery hop and licorice. Smooth alcohol underlies the whole package. Thinnish mouthfeel, medium creamy palate with growing bitter aftertaste. Quite a fine concoction.
