Pleasant flavor of rich, thick, round malt, a bit roasty, with chocolate, the finish is mildly bitter. The body is pleasantly thick and creamy and the carbonation is low. Not as complex as other baltic porters, like Zywiec, but the malt is so great that it compensates a lot, I love this beer. Boutip (2402), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Aroma of rich chocolate with some roasted malt. Taste is sweeter then I remembered (I had this last time about 7-8 years ago) with lots of chocolate flavour. Very little bitterness or hops are noticeable and alcohol is well hidden. Rich creamy body make this quite enjoyable overall. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Tobacco and rum in the finish. Powerful stuff. A bit oversweet but rich and complicated enough to keep you interested. Like my parents did when I was twelve, this does a great job of hiding the alcohol. DerWeg (780), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

(old: A v.good porter but not really my taste - the particular sweetness & flavor here are not to my liking - seems a little peaty/smoky or something, unsettling) steve23mj (273), Essexville, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2005 Pours dark brown, not opaque. Creamy tan head. Nose is sweet and malty, almost vinous. Flavor is some of the same with a hint of licorice. Underlying fruity, plummy, coffee and toffeishness. Not overpowering, but balanced. Sweet mild alcohol finish. Aroma is mad malts along with raisins, plums, chocolate, and some toffee. Sweet, almost port like. Very chewy malty. Lots of dark fruits present in this one. Some coffee and chocolate as well. Maybe a hint of smoke. The ABV is barely there. Them pPolaks make some good porters. redlight (1497), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2005 Smells malty, sweet, some fruit, banana. Pours black with a thin white head. Wow the taste is very different for a porter, reminds me of a milk stout, creamy sweet taste with caramel, coffee like bitterness, then some hop crispness, but then finishes sweet again.
