Bottle (500ml). Poured deep, dark ruby (virtually black) with an averaged sized, dense, frothy, light-brown head which lasted very well. Very sweet rich malty aroma with burnt sugar, caramelized dates, currents, milky chocolate, some coffee, touch of licorice and some odd cobweb-like notes in the back. Flavor equally as rich (if not more so) with sticky burnt toffee malts, maple syrup, light bitterness, muscatels, currents, candy sugar, dark chocolate, hint of cola and some dust in the finish. Very smooth with a well hidden alcohol content. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation, a dry somewhat creamy mouthfeel, thick texture and a good finish. Deceptively drinkable.

Thanks Daknole Dark brown pour with red highlights and a puffy tan head. Aroma is very sweet and dark with some roasted malts, dark fruits, a little bit of alcohol, and candy. Flavor is very rich with some nice dark malts, roasted chocolate and coffee flavors, and a smooth caramel and malt finish. Very nice porter all around.

Bottle from total wine. Black pour, small tan head. Aroma is very sweet with notes of toffee, prunes, molasses and some sweet chocolate. Flavor is VERY malty and sweet. I liked it at first, but it was too much throughout the whole bottle. Overall a well done porter.

This beer had a nice, black pour with a thin, tan head. The aroma had caramel and alcohol, with an underlying note of plums. The body has a nice bready maltiness with some chocolate in it. It finishes well with a slight smokiness. This is a very tasty beer.

Pours darkest brown with highlights somewhere between mahogany and sepia. Thick dark tan head leaves some fine sheets of lacing while displaying good retention. Rich boozy chocolate aroma with cocoa powder, roasted coffee, and the subtle signature of figs. Sweet flavor, with chocolate cookie malts, a mild roasted bitterness, and touch of alcohol. Finish is dry and astringent with a light metallicness. Very crisp finish for a dark, 8% abv beer. Body is oddly light and airy. Good drinkability, but a little cloying.

Poured from bottle an inky black with large brown head. Aroma is slightly boozy with coffee liqueur, bread, caramel, and faint traces of grain. Flavor is boozy and sweet with brandy, caramel, bread, plum, a touch of coffee, and soft roasted grains. Palate is sticky sweet with a little tartness, a very big alcohol presence and some bitter as the alcohol warms in the mouth. Flavors are interesting. I liked drinking this one but probably would not want more than one at a sitting.
