Black w/ dark brown, frothy head. Very light, almost "spritzy" nose. Some hints of coffee & chocolate but not much else. Moderately chewy. Mild burnt coffee & bitter chocolate flavour w/ a somewhat earthy finish but generally a very boring & bland stout.

Rocky, medium gray-brown head atop syrupy dark brown liquid. Aroma is slightly whiskey, some peat. Taste is a whiskeyish chocolate, slightly roasted with coffee tones, and with a definite burn. Thinner body than I expected given the syrupy texture. Not what I think of when I think of a dry stout, but it's pleasant enough in its own right.

Dark brown, foamy brown head that leaves a fine lace all the way down. The nose is whiskeyish with a light roasty and dusty start. A touch of chocolate and smoke rounds off the aroma that comes across almost as plastic. The body is alcoholic and lending to a whiskeyish mouthfeel. Slightly acidic with light roast getting through to sweet light chocolate. Finishes with light hops. A strange beer and I resembled more of an old ale or something like that. Not like Guinness or any of the other big one's in terms of Dry Stout, but an interesting beer nonetheless.

Dark brown, minimal head. Plesant aroma - cherry, dark chocolate and coffee. . . Alcohol flavour -> scotch whiskey on thr front of the tongue, merlot on the back. . .good malt presence as well, slightly sweet with lingering banana, vanilla and coffee. Well done.

Pours a dark red with a brown head. Aroma is of chocolate, coffee, whiskey, red wine, and a touch of cherry. Smooth and dry with plenty of burnt toast and coffee in the flavor. The best dry stout I""ve had.

poured completely black with a creamy tan head...
aroma was not so stout...sourness was there resembling grapes...
creamy mouthful..roasted coffee..a tad light bodied..slight metal notes...there's a slight alcoholic sting too and slight tartness underneath the coffee..
average...although not an average tasting stout...a tad different but generally..just average
**Note: this may have been an old bottle

Coffee, anis, chocolate and alcohol in the nose. Pours rich brown black. Dry roastieness but tart/salty on the tounge, Carbanation scours the pallet leaving a tannin acridness behind. Its like a strong unpleasant schwartz.

Sweet licorice aroma. The flavor was a surprise given the sweetness of the aroma. There was a significant smokey, roasted flavor dominating the slight bitterness of this stout. Very very dark brown color with a small beige head with nice lace all the way down.
